ACRES, CLARA C. – 91, passed away on Monday evening, December 22, 1997 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. Mrs. ACRES, who was the daughter of JAMES and NANNIE CRABTREE was a member of First Baptist Church in Oneida, having taught Sunday School for many years. She was a retired teacher, a member of the Scott County Retired Teachers Association, and many other state and national educational organizations. She was also a member of Sapphire Chapter Number 259 of the Order of Eastern Star. Survivors include her husband, PAUL H. ACRES of Oneida; one sister, GOLDIE RYAN of Cincinnati, 0.; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, December 24, at 8 p.m. at West-Murley Funeral Home, with Rev. PHILIP KAZEE and Rev. DALE SMITH officiating. Burial services were held at 10a.m. on Thursday, December 25, at the Jonathan Chitwood Cemetery in Winfield. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund. West-Murley Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
