DAVID M. ADAMS
Of Martinsburg, a former minister of the Church of the Brethren and editor of the Roaring Spring News, died in the Morrisons Cove home at 4.45 o'clock yesterday morning. Mr. Adams was born in Henrietta June 22, 1875, a son of Henry M. and Sarah (Mauk) Adams. His wife, Mrs. Harriet (Dick) Adams, died in March, 1936. Mr. Adams, in his early years, was minister of the Church of the Brethren, having served in Klahr, near Windber and in several western states. He was editor for a number of years of the Roaring Spring News. Prior to his death he had a column in the Morrisons Cove Herald. Surviving are three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Molly Crawford of Oil City, Miss Mildred and Miss Ruth Adams, both of Altoona, Harry of Cypher and William of Altoona. He was a member of the Albright Church of the Brethren. Friends will be received at the Miller funeral home, Martinsburg, after 7 o'clock this evening.

Career Is Ended For D.M. Adams, Cove Historian
David M. Adams, resident of Henrietta and former minister of the Church of the Brethren, died at the Morrisons Cove Home for the Aged, Martinsburg, Thursday, March 8, at 4:45 a.m. He had been ill for some time, and before going to the Home had been a patient for some time at the Nason Hospital.
Mr. Adams was a well known writer and newspaper man, once editor of the Roaring Spring News, and in recent years had written a historical column in the Herald, covering the various towns and communities of Morrisons Cove. Later he edited a column of discussions on various subjects.
The sudden death of his only son, Elmer, in May, 1948, was a shock from which he never fully recovered, grief for his son constantly burdening his mind, and his health gradually failed.

Surviving are three sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Mollie Crawford, of Oil City; Miss Mildred and Miss Ruth Adams and William Adams, all of Altoona, and Harry of Cypher.
He was a member of the Albright Church of the Brethren. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the K.R. Miller funeral home, Martinsburg, in charge of Rev. I.B. Kensinger. Interment in the Albright cemetery.
