Mr. Schley was born August 30, 1919 in the Township of Gibson, Manitowoc county, son of the late Karl and Amelia Fager Schley. He grew up in the Township of Gibson and attended schools in Melnik and Mishicot. He farmed for a few years near Mishicot, then moved to Manitowoc and then later moving to his present address in 1970. He worked at Burger Boat Company for 22 years, retiring in 1982.
Mr. Schley married the former Aurelia E. Wettstein on August 10, 1957 at Manitowoc. He was a member of First German Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Aurelia; a son, Ralph Schley of Texas; a daughter and son-in-law, Kay Ann and Scott Tuschel of Cato, Wisconsin; two brothers, Ormie Schley of Chilton and Alphon Schley of California; a sister, Mrs. Orville (Esther) Rasmussen of Manitowoc; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Lee Schley and two infant daughters.
Friends may call at Reinbold Pfeffer Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home from 5 pm Tuesday and until the time of service at 7 pm.
