John Marie Romagny was born August 28, 1858 in France to John and Marie Romagny. He immigrated to New York in 1882. He was a noted Architect in Galveston. He married Maria H. Hooper June 6, 1899. Maria and John were the parents of Maria Romagny Buffoli born in El Paso , John Romagny Jr.,born 1900, died at 5 days of cardiac arrest, he was born in Galveston, also a son was stillborn in El Paso, 1906.

In El Paso Texas John was a mining engineer consultant and was also a French Consulate Agent.

street, French vice consul, who died Wednesday, were held at Peak-Hagedon chapel at 10 a. m. today with Rev- W. A. Swinburn, officiating. Mr. Romagny was 80. Burial was in Evergreen. "I came to the United States because I was young and adventurous and wanted to go places." said J. M. Romagny, French consular agent in El Paso for 23 years. "I first went to England. "One night I heard a lecture on Texas. " Ah, to Texas I will go," I said. "I came to the town of Lullng, near San Antonio." Mr. Romagny was born near the city of Lyons.
