Mr. Carl K. Adams of Dothan died Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at his residence. He was 85.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday, October 29, 2009, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Billy Gant officiating. Burial will follow in Dothan City Cemetery under the direction of Ward Wilson Funeral Home.
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday, October 28, 2009. Flowers will be accepted.
Mr. Adams was born July 4, 1924, in Houston County Alabama, the son of the late William T. Adams and Nora Gibson Adams. He owned the Main Street Grill for 25 years, served in WWII and the Battle of the Bulge. He enjoyed fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ada Adams, brother, O.B. Adams, sister, Jimmie Adams, daughter, Dorothy Glenda Adams, and a grandson, Vince Brown.
Survivors include: daughters, Shirley Parrish and her husband, Gene of Elba; JoAnn Kirkland and her husband, David of Dothan; Mary Charlene Duncan and her husband, Brent of Cordelle, GA; sons, William Carl Adams and his wife, Betty of Dothan; Jerry Wayne Adams of Dothan; Paul Allen Adams and his wife, Diane of Dothan; Jimmy Ray Adams of Dothan; 17 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be: Jeff Cunningham, Jeremy Cunningham, Benji Martin, Jonathan Tedder, and Eric Winkler, and Robby Adams.
