Elizabeth Blackburn, the daughter of Edward Blackburn and Martha Kearney, married Abel Howington 7 February 1829 in Maury County, Tennessee, just south of Nashville. Soon they moved west. Their daughter Martha was born in Memphis, Shelby County. Then they went to Texas.
