Gene was adopted as a young boy by an Aunt & Uncle in Illinois. He joined the Navy as a young man and was stationed in Orange,Texas. We were living in Port Arthur, Texas and that is how my sister Carol, met Gene. He was very good looking, and while he didn't exactly look like Paul Newman, when we saw Paul Newman in a movie, we were reminded of Gene. Crazy, but true!
Gene is survived by 2 children William Edward (Eddie) Hills and Jean Carol (Jeannie) Hills Turner.
Eddie has 1 son, David Christopher (Chris) Hills who has 1 son Cayden.
Jeannie has 3 children, Stephanie Turner Franklin who has 1 daughter, Madlyn. Her other 2 children are Bradley & Sarah.
