Dave Rima was born and raised in the Billings Park neighborhood of Superior, Wisconsin. He attended St Patrick's Elementary and Cathedral High School. Always involved in Scouting, he became an Eagle Scout.
After School he entered the US Army and traveled to France during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge from the Army he headed out west to California where his sister and brother had settled. He joined the Scotts Club at St Anthony's (Single Catholics over Twenty Three) and met many friends who would become lifetime friends. He also met his wife, Veronica "Ronnie" Salak and they were married January 12, 1957.
David and Ronnie raised their family of four children in Lakewood, California. He worked several jobs and then opened his own Insurance Agency as an independent agent.
Civic involvement included many events through his church, St Pancratius in Lakewood, California. He was Grand Knight at the Knights of Columbus, Chairman of the church festival, and loved calling Bingo each week.
Dave loved to Golf. He struggled with heart disease for several years and passed after his second heart bypass in 1988.
He left his wife of thirty years, Veronica, and four children: David Rima (Shelley), Barbara Rima Genovese (Greg), Jean Marie Rima Nichols (Kent) and James Rima (Karla)
