Leonard William Adair was born on Dec. 31, 1938, in Lakeside, Ariz., to Myrtle LaVee and Woodrow Farland Adair. The third of six children born to this union, Leonard passed away on Oct. 22, 2009, in Fruitland, Utah.

Survived by his wife, Dora (Dee) Adair, and 13 children: Bill (Deanna) Adair, Christine (Troy) Bowman, and Cindy (Rick) Robinson, all of Fairview, Okla.; Teri (Dan) Webb, of La Sal, Utah; Cheryl Strubble, of Alaska; Robin (David) Carr, of Boulder, Mont.; Donald Youngblood and Glen (Debbie) Adair, of Riverton, Utah; Christina (Daren) Ahlstrom, of West Jordan, Utah; Jannette (Wayne) LaRose, of Cornish, Utah; Allen (Krista) Parkinson, of Murray, Utah; Matthew Adair, of Layton, Utah; and Joshua Adair, of Salt Lake City, Utah. Leonard is the grandpa of 36 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters: Nola June (Hanley) Vincent, of Vernal, Utah; Alice Estep, of Salt Lake City, Utah; and Audrey (Wayne) Ball, of Lenore, N.C.

Leonard loved fishing and hunting, which is one reason he and Dee moved to Fruitland. His dad taught him mechanics at an early age, and it helped him in what led to be a life-long trade. Throughout his life, he worked for various mines as a mechanic and a miner. He also served in the Air Force as an airplane mechanic. He was also a CB radio operator and electrician. He served as a Scout Master and as a Branch President in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He worked in the Vernal Temple for one year.

Funeral services will be held Tues., Oct. 27 at 12 noon at the Fruitland LDS chapel on Highway 40 in Fruitland, Utah. Friends may call on Monday from 6–8 p.m. at the Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home, 288 N. Main St, Heber, UT, and Tuesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the LDS chapel. Interment will follow the services in the Fruitland Cemetery.
