Mrs Emma Lee Fairley Batson was born August 29, 1933 in Vancleave MS. She was the daughter of the late Robert Leonard Fairley and Hattie Vance Fairley.
Mrs Batson departed this earthly house on June 11, 2007, in Ocean Springs, MS. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a dedicated member of A.O.H Holines Church of Vancleave for many years. She was an Easter Star and member of Ocean Springs Community Retirement Center. Mrs Batson also worked for the Jackson County School System for more than 34 years before retiring.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Samuel Newman and Robert C. Fairley; sister, Hazel Lee Alfred; and her great-grand-daughter, Mehgan Jackson.
She leaves to cherish her memories her six children, John C.[Dorothy] Batson II of Toledo, Ohio; Laura Ann [Joe] Turner of Deer Park, Ala.; Shirley Batson [Jesse] Vancleave, MS; William Batson of Dallas, TX; Ronald Fredrick [Mildred] Vancleave, and Stephanie [John] Batson of Gautier, MS; 21 grandchildren' 27 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2007, at New Light Missionary Baptist Church Family Life Center, 50120 Burney Road, Vancleave.
Funeral Services will begin promptly at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Vancleave.
