ADAMS, George Morgan Sr. 90, of Tampa, passed away Oct. 25, 2009. He was born in Jemison, AL, came to Tampa in 1936, enlisted in the U.S. Navy during WWII and served as a radioman on a PBY seaplane. After a 24 year career with Florida Electric, he founded Electric Supply, Inc. Until his recent illness, Mr. Adams was active in his church, community, and business. He always made time for family and friends. Mr. Adams received various honors including the first Florida Family Business of the Year Award and an official visit and award from Secretary of Commerce, Donald Evans. Mr. Adams was a leader in numerous organizations including his service as an Elder at Hyde Park Presbyterian Church, president and lifetime member of the Tampa Jaycees, and Exalted Ruler of the Tampa Elks Club. He was also a member of Palma Ceia Golf & Country Club. Mr. Adams is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Pauline, and is survived by his son George Jr. (Isabel); daughter Sandra A. Brock (Frank); grandsons Shaker Brock (Melanie) and George III; granddaughters Chris Dery (Jay) and Kelly Pound (Roy); great-grandsons Gage and Graden Dery and an extended loving family, numerous friends and great co-workers. Visitation will be (today) Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, from 6-8 pm at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Avenue, with funeral service on Friday, Oct. 30, 2009, at 2 pm at Hyde Park Presbyterian Church, 1309 W. Swann Avenue, with burial to follow at Myrtle Hill Memorial Park.
