Aaron G. Longenecker

Aaron G. Longenecker, 87, of Mount Joy passed away on October 23, 2009 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the husband of Phyllis C. Lutz Longenecker.

A Master Carpenter and General Contractor, Aaron was an accomplished homebuilder in Western Lancaster Co. A proud graduate of the Hershey Trade School, he also operated the former Rheems Lumber and Millwork Co. During the early 70's, he and his wife Phyllis operated Carpenter's Inn in Elizabethtown. A 32nd Degree Mason, he was a member of Casiphia Lodge 551, Mount Joy.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Judy Brandt, Wyndmoor; Linda Knight Kimble and Trudy Longenecker, both of Mount Joy; and a son Lancelot married to Marianne Wagner Knight of Hershey. Nine grandchildren also survive, Michelle Marsh, Justin Longenecker, David and Michael Reheard, Cheri Wright, Lance, Adrianne, and Daniel Knight and Angela Schumacher. A brother John preceded him in death.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Sheetz Funeral Home, Inc., 16 East Main Street, Mount Joy on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 11 AM. Interment to follow in Mount Tunnel Cemetery, Elizabethtown. Friends may call at the Sheetz Funeral Home, Mount Joy on Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM and again on Thursday morning from 10 to 11 AM.
