His life's occupations were millwork, farming, WW1 (Army), lineman for Canby Telephone, construction at the Portland Shipyards. He retired in 1952. Both Abe & his wife were active in the American Legion, the Champoeg Barracks & Auxiliary, Canby unit #122, I O O F & Canby lodge #156.
