Passes Away
Suddenly
Sudden death at 8 o'clock last night, claimed Mrs. Ruth Boyd Cook, 31 years of age, wife of Coy Cook, local feed merchant, at her home, two miles south of town on the Paris highway.
Mrs. Cook underwent an operation for appendicitis at the Mayfield Hospital ten days ago and was removed home last Saturday and her condition seemed steadily to improve. She was stricken last night and lived only about fifteen minutes.
The funeral service will be held at the First Presbyterian church in this city tomorrow, Wednesday, morning at eleven o'clock. The service will be conducted by the Rev. David Ausmus, pastor of the church; assisted by the Rev. Mr. Gardner, pastor of the Sedalia Baptist church. Burial will follow at the Highland Park, here.
Mrs. Cook was a member of the Beech Grove Presbyterian church, east of Boyd's crossing.
The pallbearers will be Lloyd Clark, Jim Maddox, Reuben Wilford, C. W. Wilson, Noah Caldwell and Robert Beadles.
Mrs. Cook was prominently known in the county, being a former resident of the Vealsburg section. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Boyd, reside at Vealsburg.
Besides her husband and parents, she leaves three sons, L. G., 13, George Dean, 7, and John Ellis Cook, 2. Also she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Coleman Waldrop and Mrs.. Hollis Howard, south of town: and four brothers, Clifton, Curtis and Byron Boyd, of Mayfield, and Novel Boyd, of Maysville.
Her husband is one of the managers of the Dairyman's feed and Supply Company.
