LINCOLNTON — Alvin Hunter "H.C." Cornwell, Jr., 74, 1737 W. Hwy. 150, died Feb. 26, 2000, at Lincoln Medical Center.

He was a native of Lincoln County, son of the late Alvin Hunter Cornwell, Sr., brother of the late Hugh S. Cornwell, Blonnie Sue Cornwell Whitley, graduate of Gaston College, served in the Merchant Marines, retired from Duke Power.

SURVIVORS: Son and daughter-in-laws, Gary Dean and Kathy Hendricks Cornwell, Lincolnton; daughter, Kay Cornwell Walker, Charlotte; mother, Connie Leonhardt Cornwell, Lincolnton; brother, A. Carroll Cornwell, Belmont; sisters, Joyce Rudisill, Newton, Nelva Goodson and Mabel Lowery, Lincolnton, Mary Ellen Richard, Maiden, Muriel Nantz, Iron Station; grandsons, Chris and Eric Spurling, Charlotte

FUNERAL: 2 p.m., Wednesday, Riverview Baptist Church, Revs. Nathan May and Linda Stack-Morgan.

BURIAL: Following service, church cemetery

VISITATION: 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Warlick Funeral Home
