Mildred and her twin brother, Milton, are the youngest of 13 children born to Joseph Charles and Rose Elizabeth (DeMars) Martin, with Milton being the older of the two. She married Jack Edward Hayden on January 5, 1946.

Mildred Louise Hayden died peacefully on September 5, 2008 in Alexandria, VA. She was born in Holton, MI on April 19, 1918 to Joseph J. & Rose E. (DeMars) Martin. She was the wife of Jack E. Hayden for 56 years where they resided in Cincinnati, OH, St. Louis, MO, and Muskegon, MI. She is survived by daughter, Jacqueline; son, Martin, and granddaughters, Lilly and Caroline; special niece, Joanne Martin and other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, 3 brothers, Joseph, Herman and Milton, and 3 sisters, Edna, Alice and special sister, Rose Wirtz. A memorial Mass in Mrs. Hayden's honor will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 11 AM at St. Michael's Church, Brunswick, MI with interment in St. Michael's Cemetery to follow.
