James Pringle Adcock was the eldest son of William Henry Harrison Adcock and Clarrissa I Trimble Adcock. On May 13, 1884 he married Alice Deane Peters. They had one child, Kirke.
The Adcock family lived in a small log house until they built a new two story house which they called "Sylvan Croft" meaning "Home in the Woods." They made their own plans and scale model by sewing cardboard together. There was a tower built above the second floor to be used as a study.
James Pringle Adcock was an author and his works consisted of two published volumes and five unpublished manuscripts. His first published volume of poetry, "Heart Whispers" was published in Marion KY in 1905. The second book, "Wooings In Rusticity" was published by a company he formed near Hampton. He then rode by horseback selling his books.
James Pringles Adcock's second marriage was to Anna Belle Ramage Alsobrook, a widow. They had no children.
His third marriage was to lady in the Bowling Green, Warren Co KY area. They only lived together a few weeks and had no children.
