A funeral will be held Thursday, September 28th, 2006 for 96-year-old Leona A. Winston of Ste. Genevieve, who died Monday, September 25th at Riverview at the Park Care and Rehabilitation Center in Ste. Genevieve.
She was born April 17th, 1910 in Ste. Genevieve, the daughter of Antone Basler and Josephine (Roth) Basler, who both preceded her in death.
She married Joseph Winston on September 19th, 1928 in Ste. Genevieve. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by four sons and three daughters in law: Tom and Vicky Winston of Ste. Genevieve, Bob and Joyce Winston of Ste. Genevieve, Don and Maxine Winston of St. Charles and Anthony "Sonny" Winston of Festus; five daughters and five sons in law: Barbara and Bob Seibel, Sharon and Jesse Drury, Jodi and Melvin Huck, Betty and Herb Seibel, all of Ste. Genevieve and Judy and Carl Basler of St. Louis; 28 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sons: Joseph Winston Jr. and Jim Winston; a daughter: Mary Wilson; two brothers: Francis Basler and Emanuel Basler; three sisters: Philomena Kemper, Agnes Meyer and Wilma Flieg; two grandchildren: Linda Seibel and Jay Winston; two daughters in law: Antonette Winston and Annajean Winston and a son in law: Larry Geiler.
She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 27th at the Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve.
