Louis E. Boldi, 73, of East Hartford, beloved husband of Helen (Watson) Boldi, died unexpectedly on Thursday (November 28, 1996) at Manchester Memorial Hospital.


He was born in East Hartford and was a lifelong resident. He was a decorated World War II, U.S. Army veteran. He was employed for thirty-five years at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, East Hartford, before retiring in 1986.


Mr. Boldi had a political career that began in 1948 as the youngest elected state representative at 26 years old, and was chairman of the first Democratic District in East Hartford for ten years.


He was a charter member of the BPOE 2063, East Hartford, as well as a member of the VFW, East Hartford, and was a member of the Board of Police Commissioners for thirteen years. Mr. Bo ldi was an avid musician who played the saxophone and sang since his teenage years.


Besides his wife, he is survived by a son and a daughter-in-law, Martin J. and Elaine Boldi of Stafford Springs; a daughter and son-in-law, Corinna and Dr. Paul Tamburin i of Kensington; a sister, Josephine Grant of West Hartford; five grandchildren, Marcie, Corinna, and Kyle Boldi and Fiona and Ian Tamburini; and several nephews.


Funeral Services will be held on Monday (December 2, 1996) at 10:15 a.m. from the Callahan Funeral Home, 1602 Main Street, East Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, East Hartford.
Burial with Full Military Honors accorded will follow in Veteran's Memorial Field, Hillside Cemetery, East Hartford.
Calling hours will be held today from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
