P. H. "Dick" Dickinson

May 21, 1921 - October 31, 2009


AUGUSTA, Ga. – Entered into rest Saturday, October 31, 2009, at the residence, Mr. P. H. "Dick" Dickinson, 88, devoted husband of 67 years to Janice H. Dickinson.


Mr. Dickinson was a native of Monroe, GA but resided in Augusta since 1967. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He was employed for 40 years with Western Electric and was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Augusta and served on the Audio Visual Committee. Mr. Dickinson worked in the concessions at the Masters for over 20 years. He was an avid handyman.


Family members in addition to his wife include his son: Dean C. Dickinson of Augusta; daughter: Diane D. Henry and husband Bill of Augusta; and grandchildren: Christian Henry (Cristy), Jordan Henry; and two great- grandchildren.


A memorial service was held Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. in the Rotunda of First Baptist Church of Augusta with Dr. Rodger Murchison officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
