John Andrew Siler, 98, of Blackfoot died Wednesday, October 26, 1994 at the Bingham County Extended Care Facility from causes incident to age.

He was born March 20, 1896 in Pleasant View, Utah to Samuel Hardy and Emma Elizabeth Mower Siler.

On April 3, 1918, he married Ruby May Cornwall in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

She preceded him in death in 1975.

He was an active member of the Church of Jesus christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many capacities including Sunday School Superintendent, High Priest group leader, Counselor in the Fort Hall Branch Presidency and Bishop of the Fort Hallard.

He was a farmer at Fort Hall and loved to raise and work with animals as well as gardening.

In his senior years he derived much joy from doing temple work, several sessions a day, several days a week.

He is survived by three sons: Lester W. Siler, Roberts, Idaho; Harold A. Siler, Salt Lake City, Utah; and Ernest E. Siler, Logan, Utah; two daughters: Mrs. Clinton (Velma) Hansen of Blackfoot; and Mrs. Noel (Lucile) Larsen of Myrtle Creek, Oregon; 33 grandchildren, 129 great-grandchildren and 27 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, one son, Cecil Paul, four brothers, five sisters, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 31, 1994 at the Blackfoot 4th and 11th Ward Chapel, 520 North Shilling, Blackfoot, Idaho.

The family will meet with friends on Sunday evening from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Hill-Sandberg Funeral Home and again on Monday at the church from 10-10:50 a.m.

Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park in Idaho Falls.
