The deceased was born in Milwaukee on July 28, 1862, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Carl Barwig. After leaving school Mr. Barwig entered his father's wholesale liquor business. In 1888 he, together with his brother Carl, took over the business. A few years later Byron Barwig bought his brother's interest in the business and conducted the same until about a year before prohibition. Several years later he sold all his holdings in this city and moved to Chicago where he conducted a furniture business.
On Nov. 30, 1892 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Rahlfs of Chicago, who survives with two daughters and one son.
The body was called for on Monday by undertaker Lester Moul at the state line and brought to this city where interment took place at Graceland cemetery. Last rites were conducted by the Mayville Masonic Lodge of which he had been a member for many years.
