The son of Harris & Elizabeth (Turner) Colt, he died at age 70 years. In 1790 he married (1) Rebecca Butler, (2) Amy Prentiss in 1809, and (3) Lucretia (Davis) Goodwin on October 10, 1812 (widow of Daniel Goodwin). He was one of the first subscriber of the Harford Bank in 1792.

1. Sally died Aug. 29, 1798, died at age 1, bur Center Church
2. Jabez died May 2, 1808 ae 10 days.
3. Rebecca died Sept. 12, 1814 ae 19 bur Old North
4. Elizabeth m. Marcus Bull & died ae 20
