From his death notice in the Morganton Herald, Morganton, NC, Thursday January 4, 1900:
"John Solomon (sic), the oldest citizen of Quaker Meadows township, aged more than 90 years, died Monday at his house five miles from Morganton. He was a good man and respected in his neighborhood."
John was 23 years younger than his wife Leah.
At present, I have not been able to locate any children for John & Leah. Her advanced age may be the reason there were no children.
The correct spelling is Saulmon.
