Ruby A. Ackart

Ruby A. Ackart passed away on July 2, 1996, at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha, Ne. She had attained the age of 61 years, 11 months, and 19 days.

Funeral services were held Saturday, July 6, at the Knutson Funeral Home in Avoca with Mr. Wayne Paulsen officiating. Interment was in the Graceland Cemetery in Avoca.

Ruby Ann Ackart was born on July 13, 1934, in Walnut, Ia. She was the daughter of Clifford and Blanche Briggs Johnson. She was one of five children in the family.

She attended school in Elk Horn, Ia., and graduated with the Class of 1952.

Ruby was married to Levi Ackart on June 6, 1954, in Avoca, Ia. They were the parents of two sons; Terry and Brent.

They made their home in Avoca until August of 1955. It was then that they moved to New Hampton, Ia.

They remained there until June of 1960, when they located in Greene, Ia., until June of 1969.

They then moved to Grundy Center, Ia., and remained there until August of 1978, and eventually moved back to New Hampton.

In December of 1983, they retired and moved to Apple Valley, Calif. They finally returned to Avoca in February of 1990.

Ruby was an avid collector of pink depression glass. She especially enjoyed her family and making crafts.

Ruby was preceded in death by her father, and a brother, Darrell Johnson.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Levi, her two sons; Terry Ackart and his wife, Janet, and Brent Ackart and his wife, Lisa, all of Hesperia, Calif., her mother, Blanche Johnson of Walnut, Ia., one sister; Shirley and her husband, Otto Faaborg of Exira, Ia., two brothers; Clifford Johnson and his wife, Marcia, of Ogden, Ia., and Dale Johnson and his wife, Carolyn, of Rudy, Ark., two grandchildren; Brittany and Jason Ackart, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
