Rev. Bishop Ernest Lynn Waldorf was the son of David Hiram and Mercy Ann (Thrall) Waldorf. He was the husband of Flora Janette (Irish) Waldorf. They were married in 1902. Flora died July 3, 1963. He was a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church/The Methodist Church: Central New York Conference 1900 Genesee (now Western New York) Conference 1910 F 1911. He served Buffalo (NY): Plymouth 1910-1915. Prior to his election as Bishop in 1920, he was Chaplain in the 74th Regiment of the National Guard in Buffalo, New York.

Ernest L. Waldorf (1876-1943). Methodist Bishop. b. May 14, 1876 in South Valley, New York. Graduate of Syracuse University in 1900 and 1915. Ordained to Methodist Episcopal ministry in 1900 and served churches in New York until 1915, when he went to Cleveland, Ohio. Became Bishop in 1920, and was in charge of Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Louisiana areas; later Missouri was added. In 1932 he was assigned to the Chicago, Illinois area. Mason. d. July 27, 1943.
