"JIM" STRAIGHT TAKEN
---
WELL-KNOWN BOISE BOY SUCCUMBS TO PARALYSIS.
---
Hemorrhage at the Base of the Brain Cause that Defied the Efforts of His Physicians
---
James Straight, eldest son of Mrs. J. D. Flenner, succumbed yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the effects of the paralytic stroke he sustained Friday morning. The paralysis was caused by a hemorrhage at the base of the brain that defied the efforts of the physicians. The patient was unconscious most of the time and for several hours prior to dissolution was in a comatose condition.
The deceased was 37 years old. He was born on the Weiser, his parents being well-known pioneers and had lived in Boise practically all his life. His father, Isaac Straight, one of the veteran stage drivers of southern Idaho, died several years ago.
"Jim" was a favorite with all his acquaintances and won and held the highest confidence of his employers. He was the idol of his family to whose interest he was unselfishly devoted, and the blow of his sudden death comes to them with specially crushing force.
All the members of the family, with the exception of one sister, Mrs. F. L. Clark of Berkeley, Cal., were at the bedside when the end came. Mrs. Minnie Farquaharson of Seattle arrived early yesterday morning and William Straight, brother of the deceased, reached the city from Atlanta Saturday night. Mrs. Clark will arrive this morning. Two sisters, Mrs. Andy Robinson and Mrs. Guy Flenner, and a brother, Luther Straight are residents of Boise.
The remains are at the undertaking parlors of Schreiber & Sindenfaden. The funeral announcement will be made later. The deceased was a member of the local Eagle lodge, which will probably conduct the burial service.
