Word has been received of the death of Harold J. Devendorf, 81, a former Traverse City resident, Dec. 13 at Mercy Hospital in Muskegon. Funeral services were held Dec. 16 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Muskegon and burial was in Egelston Township Cemetery.
He was born Sept. 14, 1885 in Muskegon. He operated a hotel in Canada for a few years, had finished commercially in Muskegon, and retired from his job at Cannon Muskegon Company in 1960.
Mr. Devendorf married the former Beulah Mahan at Traverse City in 1908. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
Surviving are one son, Calvin of Hastings, Minn; two daughters, Mrs. Bert Field and Mrs. Geraldine Shaw, both of Edmonton, Atla.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
