Kenneth Eugene Ricker, 82, of Spring Street, Gardiner, died Monday, Nov. 2, 2009, at the Maine Veterans' Home in Augusta. He was born in Presque Isle on Aug. 15, 1927, the son of Melvin Edward and Olga Bernice Ricker.
Kenneth served in the Navy during World War II and the United States Coast Guard.
Kenneth was predeceased by his son, Gene; and siblings Melvin Jr., Anna, Louise and Betty.
Ken is survived by his loving companion, Nancy Gross, of Gardiner; his two daughters, Marta and Margo Ricker, of Loveland, Colo.; a grandson and great-grandson; his brother, Larry Farley, of Randolph; three sisters, Winona Drake, of Sidney, Marilyn Emery, of Randolph, and Arlene Pullen, of Gardiner; and several nieces and nephews.
Private burial with military honors will be held at a later date in the New Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Augusta. (Kennebec Journal 11/4/2009)
