The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at Elmira Church of Christ for Emma Jean Richmond of Eugene, who died Oct. 31 of age-related causes. She was 85.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene. Burial will follow Friday's funeral at the Walton Cemetery in Walton.
She was born Oct. 11, 1924, in Eugene, to Warren and Emma Mabe Surcamp. She married Wade LeRoy "Roy" Richmond in Eugene on May 14, 1945.
She worked during World War II pulling two-by-fours off a greenchain at a sawmill. She later co-owned the Elmira Lockers, worked at Tri-County Bank in Veneta and was a homemaker. She and her husband were resident assistants at Willamette Oaks Retirement Living in Eugene.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Loreen Large of Dexter and Arleta Richmond of Springfield; a son, Walt Richmond of Crooked River Ranch; three sisters, Adah McCulloch and Letha Oliver, both of Eugene, and Geneva Hardcastle of Springfield; and seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
