John Harvey Cooper first married Mary Lumpkin on Nov. 4, 1866 in Floyd County, Georgia. They were parents of eleven children. Burial location for Mary Lumpkin Cooper is unknown. By the 1900 John H. Cooper and his second wife, Louise, were residents of Alabama City, Etowah County, Alabama. About 1891 in Floyd County, Georgia, John H. married Louise Johns. He and Louise became parents of six children. Louise drew a widow's CSA pension in Etowah County and later in Jefferson County, Alabama where she lived with her daughter.
