He was born on November 10, 1911, in Duchesne, Utah, the son of Levi C. and Bertha Giles White. He was the youngest of nine children.
van moved with his parents to St. George, Utah, in 1926 where he finished High School and two years at Dixie College.
He was employed by Standard Oil of California for fifteen years.
He married Elva Stout on October 15, 1935 in the St. George Temple.
He is survived by his wife Elva and six children: Wendell Judy White, Bountiful, UT: Sharon Garry Deuel, Sandy, UT; Allen Lynda White, Fremont, CA; Francie Ken Wzorek, San Diego, CA; David White, Salt Lake City, UT; Kent Vicki White, Jerome, ID. They have 30 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Ivan came to Jerome in 1946 and purchased the Jerome Gas and Oil Company. He was in business in Jerome for 25 years.
Ivan and Elva served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Arkansas from 1976 to 1978. He has been active in the LDS Church all of his life, holding many callings.
