Donald M. "Flintstone" Varner, 58, of Cassville, died Saturday, June 17, 2000, at home. He was born Oct. 29, 1941, in Mooresville, son of the late James "Bud" and Maxine Varner. He served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He was a member of Moose Lodge 261, and Westover VFW Post 9916. He was an avid bowler and was inducted into the WV Bowling Association Hall of Fame on May 7. He was also a member of the Morgantown Bowling Association and the American Bowling Congress. He was employed by Century Communications. He is survived by his wife, Karen Forbes Varner; a daughter and spouse, Donna and Mark Krulikowski, of Centreville, Va.; three brothers, Delmas Varner, of Hundred, David Varner, of Cassville, and Daniel Varner, of Granville; and a sister, Dema Parrotta, of Morgantown. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Denny Varner. The body will be cremated. Friends may call at Owen-Neely Funeral Home, Blacksville, from 6-9 p.m. Sunday. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, with Pastor Fred W. Tomlinson officiating. Full military rites will be conducted by Westover VFW Post 9916. Info contributed by Sylvia Whittaker
