She married Caleb Bentley ca.1821, he a son of Norman and Mercy (Tanner) Bentley of Rhode Island as well.
They had seven children, all the girls being born in the village of Usquepaug :
1. Mercy A., b. 1822 (Mrs. Parker)
2. Harriet, b. 1823 (Mrs. Wager)
3. Mary E., b. 1826 (Mrs. Burr)
4. Eliza A., b. 1828 (Mrs. Mook)
5. Roxana "Roxie", b. 1829 (Mrs. Mann)
6. Susan M., b. 1835 (Mrs. DeLand; Mrs. Huntoon)
7. Norman, b. 1838 NY
The 1850's found the Bentleys in Perinton, NY where Caleb was farming. The girls all met and married men from the surrounding area during this time.
By 1863 all the children had married and started families of their own. Five of the girls went to Michigan with their husbands, living in Adrian, Cambria, Kalamazoo and Waterford Twp, while Norman remained in Millers Corner (Ionia), NY and Roxie was Mrs. Edwin Mann in Batavia.
Caleb and Susan were in West Bloomfield in Ontario County, NY by the 1870's, where Caleb spent his remaining days, passing on in 1874.
When Susan was widowed, she went to Michigan, living with her daughter Harriet (Bentley) Wager in Waterford Twp. where she died a little over a year after her husband Caleb had passed away.
She was brought back to Millers Corner by her son Norman to repose beside her husband.
(note: Susan's middle name may actually be "properly" spelled "Chace" - research has shown there were a number of families of that name in the Kent County area of RI)
