Marvin Joseph Ailing of Amik-Onse Court in Sault Ste. Marie passed away at his home on Wednesday, February 5, 2003. He was born on March 29, 1926 in the Sault.
Marvin was a member of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians and the Chippewa County Shooting Association, and a veteran of World War II. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching Red Wings hockey.
Marvin is survived by his wife Leona (Bonno) Ailing of Sault Ste. Marie; six sons: Lynn (Marsha) Ailing of Sault Ste. Marie, Lee Ailing of Brimley, Lon (Adrienne) Ailing of Lansing, Leslie (Tracy) Ailing of Sault Ste. Marie, Joseph Ailing of Sault Ste. Marie and Robert (Debbie) Isrow of Warren; seven daughters: Bonnie Dawson Hemitt of California, Kim (Walter) Santigo of Sault Ste. Marie, Adrienne (Graz) Shipman of Sault Ste. Marie, Joyce Isrow of Sault Ste. Marie, Barb Germain of Kincheloe, Charlene Demo of Mt. Clemens and Pam Harris of Hawaii; 27 grandchildren; and 23 great-grand children.
Marvin was predeceased by a son, Lance Ailing; great-grandson Zaagidwin Shipman; brothers Floyd and Russell Ailing; a previous wife, Audrey Ailing; and parents, Russell and Adelaide (LaCoy) Ailing.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 7th form 7 yo 9 p.m. at Clark Bailey Newhouse Funeral Home with prayers a 8 p.m. Services will be at 9 a.m. on Saturday, February 8th at the funeral home with Father John Hascall officiating. The final resting place will be in Oaklawn Chapel Gardens.
