Mrs. Betsey C. STRANG, aged 84 years, of Westfield, died last week Monday evening, of pneumonia. She was the daughter of the late Charles P. DOUGLASS, of Sabinsville, and in 1848 married Butler B. STRANG. To them were born two children, Francis D. and Ben B., both of whom are dead. Mrs. STRANG's husband, the late Senator Butler STRANG, was for years a leading member of the Tioga County Bar Association, and enjoyed the distinction of serving as speaker of both Houses of the State Legislature.
She is survived by five grandchildren: Hugh B. STRANG, Esq., of Westfield; Mrs. Grace CRANE, of Addison, NY; Mrs. Elizabeth PEAKE, f Corry, and Walter and Russell B. STRANG, of St. Paul, Minn. She was also a sister of Mrs. Frank WHITTAKER and Mrs. John MINTONYE, of Sabinsville; George DOUGLASS, of New Jersey, and Charles DOUGLAS, of Birch Run, Mich. The funeral was held Friday morning, December 22, at 10 o'clock.
