Lucinda Derryberry married John Bond abt. 1834 in or around Henderson County, Tennessee. By 1856 their family is in Cooke County, Texas on Indian Creek. At various times John served in Cooke County as a probate judge and as postmaster of the now defunct Arcade community.

John Bond died sometime between 1862-1867. On May 5, 1867, Lucinda married Dr. John Hunton in Cooke County. She is found twice in the 1870 U.S. Census. Once, with husband John Hunton in Grayson County, Texas, and the other in adjacent Cooke County in the household of William and Nancy Baxter (presumably visiting her orphaned granddaughter, Aramintha Ingraham/Ingram who was living with the Baxters). It is believed John Hunton died in 1876 and it is said that he drowned in the Trinity River.

Shortly after her second husband's death, Lucinda likely moved to Wise County with the family of her son, Miles Bond (who is found in Wise Co. in the 1880 census). Lucinda's granddaughter was named after her (Lucinda B. Bond) and they are buried side by side. Loucinda B. Bond was the daughter of Miles Bond and Rebecca W. Renick/Rennick.

Note: the spelling "Lucinda" is used in most, if not all, the records located so far for this person. To date, the only time we find the spelling "Loucinda" used is on this headstone.
