Rev. Robert R. Pitts, Jr., age 83, of Pensacola, passed away Friday, November 06, 2009. He was born October 7, 1926 in Wylam, AL to the late R. Reed Pitts, Sr. and Linnie A. Archer. He was a Pastor in the Church of God for 50 years. He enjoyed fishing with his family and friends and was known to be quick witted. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Judy Jones, and sister, Margaret Keim. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mary Lee Henderson Pitts; three children, Robert Reed Pitts, III (Beverly), Karen McGarrity (Rev. Terry,), Mary Elizabeth Purdy (Robert); special son-in-law, Gordon Jones; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three special nieces, Frances Watson, Marilyn Hildebrand, and Margaret Spector; and two cousins, Harold Sayers and Katheryn Argo; several great nieces and nephews.
