Jane graduated from Las Vegas High School and continued her education at the University of Nevada in Reno, Nev. On July 12, 1936, she married Ralph Clark, and they lived in Las Vegas for two years. In 1938 they moved to a farm nine miles west of Wray, Colo., and started to farm. In 1946, a son, Mike M. Clark was born.
Eleven years of drought and hail forced them to move into Wray, Colo., for employment. Ralph found work as a maintenace operator for the County Road Department and Jane went to work as a clerk in the County Clerk's office. Three years later she was offered the postition of Deputy County Treasurer which she held for thirteen years. In 1970, she ran for the office of County Treasurer and held that office for sixteen years. In 1987 she retired after devoting thirty-two years of service to Yuma County.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph, one sister, one brother and her parents.
She is survived by one son, Mike Clark and wife Debra of Caruthersville; one grandson, Brent Clark and his wife Nicole, of Caruthersville; a daughter-in-law, Gloria Clark of Wray, Colo.; two sisters, Junie Carson of Las Vegas, Nev., and Francis MacMullen of Reno, Nev.; one brother, George Phillips and wife Viv of Las Vegas, Nev.; one sister-in-law, Effie Phillips of Enamclaw, Wash.; one great granddaughter, Heather Lewsi of Caruthersville, and numberour nieces and nephews.
