Commissioner West's Sister Dead
Miss Alice Athow West, sister of Commissioner Henry L. West died suddenly of heart disease shortly before 8 o'clock yesterday morning at her residence, 1609 First Street Northwest. Miss West had suffered for some years from heart trouble, but no immediate danger was anticipated. She was, in fact, preparing to leave for her desk in the Post Office Department at the time of the fatal stroke, which came without a moment's warning and was instantaneous in its effect. After a certificate of death from natural causes had been given, the remains were removed to Commissioner West's residence, 1364 Harvard Street where funeral services will be privately held at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon, Rev. S.H. Greene, D.D., officiating, the deceased having been for many years an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church. The interment will be in the family lot in Oak Hill Cemetery.
