Prominent Farmer Is Heart Victim
C.C. Holland, prominent Carnegie farmer, died at the Patterson hospital Tuesday night at 9:30 following a heart attack at his farm home north of Carnegie early Tuesday morning. Funeral services will he held at the Methodist church Thursday at 3 o'clock, and burial will be made in the Carnegie cemetery. Marion M. Monk, pastor of the Methodist church will preach the funeral sermon.
Claud C. Holland was born at Hickman, Ky., January 18, 1863, died at Carnegie, Oklahoma July 6, 1937, aged 74 years, 5 months and 18 days.
Mr. Holland was married to Miss Belle Norton February 6, 1890. To this union two sons and three daughters were born. An infant son died June 7, 1896. A son, Roy, died Nov. 9, 1918. The widow and his three daughters survivors; Mrs. J.A. Glover, Butler, Mo.; Mrs. S.N. Beebe of this place and Mrs. L.R. Beebe, Anadarko. Other survivors are a nephew, Lewis Holland, Carnegie; a niece, Mrs. Charlie Duncum, Shamrock, Tex. and two grandchildren, Ofa Beebe and Billy Thad Beebe. All of the relatives will attend the funeral. Mrs. Glover and Miss Ofa who is attending college at Edmond, arrived this morning. Mr. and Mrs. Duncum are here from Shamrock.
Mr. Holland has lived on his farm six miles north and one east of Carnegie for 20 years. The family pioneered in Caddo county. He was always active in community affairs, and was a member of the Carnegie Methodist church where he was a regular attendant.
Pallbearers who will serve at the services Thursday are M.G. Tunnell, C.E. Burch, A.R. Howell, Frank Scott, M.M. Stocking and Monroe F. Reece.
