Zella Marie (Robinson) Sparks, Perry
Age 87, formerly of Albion, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2009 at Rainey House Hospice in Anderson, South Carolina after a lengthy battle with colon cancer and congestive heart failure. She was born October 3, 1921 in Floyd Co. Kentucky to Harmon and Ida (Adams) Robinson. Zella married Elzie Sparks who preceded her in death in 1973 and Junior Perry who preceded her in death in 1991. She was a homemaker for most of her life. Zella worked at State Farm Insurance in Marshall for a few years. She moved to Starr, SC in 1994. She was a member of the Baptist Faith and loved her flower garden. She also loved watching hummingbirds and gold finch. She enjoyed reading and traveling, especially to the mountain. Zella loved and truly enjoyed her grandchildren. Her survivors include:(4) daughters Mary Kelly of Starr, SC, Betty Waldrop of Iva, SC, Shirley (Mike) Leach of Marshall, Brenda Hall Paintsville, KY, daughter in law Nancy Sparks of Concord, (4) sisters Myrtle Lloyd of Springport, Dialpha Rodgenbuk of Parma, Ruby Owens of Springport, Thelma Moore of Mesa, AZ, (2) brothers Lester (Judy) Robinson of Olivet, Roy (Alice) Robinson of Texas, (9) grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several step children. She was preceded in death by her husbands, son Eddie Sparks, sister Emma Ousley and brothers, Harmon Jr. and Russell Robinson.
Funeral Service was at 1:00 P.M. Friday, October 2, 2009, at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion, MI, with Pastor Earl Martin officiating. Burial: Albion Memory Gardens. Visitation was on Thursday, October 1, 2009, at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. and again on Friday one hour prior to service.
