Funeral services for Aaron Ford Blunt were held at the Kincaid Baptist church Monday, March 29, at 2:00 p.m., with the Rev. William Carter officiating.
Albert Irwin sang "The Old Rugged Cross," accompanied by Mrs. Lloyd Porter at the piano. Casket bearers were grandsons: Wendell and Howard Thompson, Eugene and Dean Blunt, Aaron and Ray Hosley. Burial was in the Kincaid cemetery.
Aaron Ford Blunt, Kincaid, passed away at the Anderson County hospital March 26, 1965, at the age of 86 years, five months and six days. The son of Elizabeth and Hiram Blunt, he was born October 20, 1879, in Caldwell, Kas. The family moved in 1880 to the old Blunt homestead four miles southeast of Kincaid.
He was married to Mary Elizabeth Marple on October 18, 1899. to this union were born two sons and three daughters. He is survived by one son, Harold of Overland Park, Kas., and three daughters, Louada Hosley and Eula Thompson, both of Kincaid, and Marjorie Morgan, Independence, Mo.; one step-daughter, Joan Coberly Cox of Pleasanton, Kas.; 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
His wife preceded him in death April 16, 1925, and in later years he married Edna Coberly, who also preceded him in death.
For many years he was a member of the Old Osage Baptist church, then transferred to the Kincaid Baptist church. For the past three years he has been at home in the McLeod Rest Home in Garnett.
