Obituary - Lewis C McKay, of Fall Creek Township, died Saturday, Nov 5th, 1892. Aged 28 years, 11 months, 21 days.

Funeral services and burial at Mt Zion U B Church on Sunday afternoon; it was attended by a very large and sympathizing concourse of neighbors and friends.

Mr McKay was a valiant and faithful soldier for three years in the late war. He enlisted in Co B, 2nd Indiana Cavalry in Sept 1861 and was in many battles, in which he received injuries, which no doubt hastened his death. He died an honor to his country.

He was a cheerful, kind, honest and generous hearted husband, father, neighbor and friend.
Funeral osequies conducted by Rev M F Dawson and the G A R Post of Fortville, of which he was an esteemed member. Peace to his ashes.

Enoch McKay was the son of Abraham and Mary McCarthy McKay.

All of Charlotte and Enoch's children were born in Indiana:
