Sarah was the fifth of eight children born to Hardin Duvall and Mary Strait Duvall. She and her three younger siblings all died in infancy or early childhood and are buried together in the Strait Cemetery. About 1860 the family migrated to Saline Co., NB, where Hardin was the Justice Of The Peace. Hardin died in 1871 and is buried in Nebraska. Mary returned to Darke Co., Ohio and died in 1880.
