Her son records that she said while she was in bed with a baby in 1863, two physicians held a consultation and then bled her. She said, "I recovered in spite of that."
The papers of her son, North Todd Gentry, are constitute the Western Manuscript Collection which are in Ellis Library at the U of MO. The collection is enormous & very useful due to the unique intelligence and personality of Gentry.
