MARKER ERECTED AT GREEN HILL
Through the efforts of Traylor Russell, a marker was secured and placed at the grave of James Harris in the Green Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Harris fought in the War of 1812 and was a son of a Revolutionary soldier, Matthew Harris. Among those attending that placing of the marker were Jerry Sanders and Bill Mason wha are fifth generation grandsons of James Harris.
Members of the Martha Lairs Chapter of the Daughters of the Revolution were Mrs. B.D. McAfee, Mrs. Bessie Caldwell, Mrs. D.D. Lide and Mrs. J.W. Lane. Others attending included Mr. and Mrs. W.V. Mason, John A. Lane, Mrs. Henry Mason, Mrs. Grace Gingles, Mrs. J.D. Stewart, Miss Fannie Wallace and Mrs. Edwin Sanders.
