Deacon Robert Anthony Huber was raised in Marion, Ohio. He was the son of Edward T. Huber and Mary Lynn Huber. He had 5 brothers and one sister: Frank (deceased), John, Father William (deceased), Brother Richard C.S.C., Peter, and Mary Anne.

During World War II, Reverend Huber served in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theatre. After being honorably discharged, he entered Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. He graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration.

Upon graduation, he worked for General Mills. He then went to work for the Police Department of Cincinnati, Ohio, for ten years. His final career move was to the Court of Common Pleas of Hamilton County, Ohio, where he worked as a probation officer for twenty years. It was during this time that he returned to Xavier University and earned his Masters Degree in Corrections.

Reverend Huber was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus, a Roman Catholic organization that is dedicated to a ministry of charitable works. Reverend Huber served in the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus as a Past Faithful Navigator, the Archbishop Leibold Assembly.

Reverend Huber was very involved with Guardian Angels and St. Xavier Catholic Churches in Cincinnati, Ohio. Upon retirement, this involvement with Catholic parishes led him to discern a vocation as a Permanent Deacon in the Roman Catholic Church.

Reverend Huber was ordained a Permanent Deacon of the Roman Catholic Church on June 20, 1987, at St. Peter in Chains Cathedral in Cincinnati, Ohio. His ministry over the years consisted of Jail Chaplaincy, Hospital Pastoral Care, Marriage Preparation, Spiritual Reflections, Parish Pastoral Care, and Nursing Home Visitations.

While at Xavier University, he met the love of his life, Mary Joan Casey. After her graduation from the College of Mount Saint Joseph, they were married on August 30, 1952.

Bob and Mary Joan Huber had 3 children: Michele, Mary Lynn, and Casey. In addition to his wife and children, Reverend Huber was survived by 6 grandchildren: Michael, Matthew, Mackenzie, and Madison Huber, and Michael and Kelsey Schwander.

Ponderosa Valley Funeral Services, 10470 South Progress Way, Parker, CO 80134 was in charge of arrangements. A celebration of his life was held on Thursday, October 22, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at Ave Maria Catholic Church in Parker, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested that donations be given to Xavier University Scholarship fund or Catholic Charities of Colorado Springs.
