Funeral services are to be held at 2pm Saturday Jan 20, for Cecil A. Pierce, 68 who died Wednesday in a Burlington hospital following an extended illness. The Rev. Dan J. Rueb will conduct the services at Kern Funeral chapel. Interment will be in Hawthorne Lawn cemetery.

Pierce was born Aug 20, 1893 at Lake City, Ia., son of Fred and Amy Pierce. He married Miss Golda Hamilton in Wheaton, Minn., Jan 29, 1917, and they came to Sedro-Woolley in 1942 after having lived in Iowa, North Dakota and Montana. Mr. Pierce was a millwright for Goodyear-Nelson Lumber Company in Sedro-Woolley before his illness.

Pierce was a member of the First Baptist church, Whiting, Kansas and a member of the Carpenters Union.

Surviving in addition to Mrs. Pierce are daughters, Mrs. Laura Pitts (wife of Alva Pitts of Brewster, WA), Mrs. Viola Maltbie (wife of Albert Maltbie of Yakima, WA) Mrs. Betty Parker (wife of Glen Parker of Winthrop,WA) , Mrs. Jeannice Graves (wife of Thomas Graves of Winthrop, WA) and Mrs. VondaLee Hyatt (wife of Everett G. Hyatt of Milton, NY); a son, Donald B. Pierce of Mt. Vernon, WA., brothers, Clarence and Lewis of Aumsville, OR, sister, Mrs. Ivy Cammell (wife of Wes Cammell of Brewster, WA), Mrs. Ida Bowles (wife of Earl Bowles of Brewster, WA) and Mrs. Vay Lee of Quincy, WA
