Mannsville, OK β .Jose Gomez Rueda, 49, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, in Marietta, Okla. Services will be Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at Mannsville Cemetery with the Reverend Victor Sanchez officiating.
Jose was born March 20, 1960, in Zacatackas, Mexico to Gabino Rueda and Rosa Gomez. He married Reba Jo Hunt on Nov. 20, 1994, at Gainesville, Texas.
After moving to America in 1977, he settled in Oklahoma and started working on ranches. He worked at President Baking at Marietta for 17 years. In 2005, Jose went to work at Dollar General in the Shipping Department. He loved the outdoors and working with his horse, Rojo, going to rodeos and taking his grandkids to the car races. The love of his life was his grandkids.
Jose's mother preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Reba Jo Rueda of the home; daughter, Kimberly Prather and husband Richard Hawkins of Ardmore, Okla.; son, J.D. Pitts and wife Cara Shelton of Lone Grove, Okla.; six grandchildren, Dylan Prather and Raigan Prather, both of Ardmore, Aiden Pitts of Lone Grove, Brett Hawkins, Brandon Hawkins and Nevaeh Hawkins all of Ardmore; three brothers, Adolfo Rueda of Mexico, Arturo Rueda of Pittsburg, Kan. and Theodore Rueda of Denver; two sisters, Goya Rueda and Socarro Rueda, both of Pittsburg, Kan.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gavino Rueda, Arturo Rueda, Pedro Sanchez, Juan Sanchez, Teodoro Rueda, Socoro Rueda, Adolfo Rueda, Jesus Sanchez, Pablo Sanchez, Armado Rueda, Sam Sanchez, Norberto Sanchez, Jaime Sanchez and Dr. J.T. O'Conner.
The family will greet visitors at Griffin-Hillcrest Funeral Home in Ardmore tonight from 6-8 p.m.
